Hi Alejandra,

Thanks for posting. '~기 때문에' is used to explain the reason for an action or a state, and can be loosely translated to 'because'.

Example:

너 때문에 행복해. (I'm happy because of you.)

사고 때문에 도로가 막혔다. (There was traffic because of an accident.)

Hope this helped!

Best,

Lyn

Hi Uttam,

Thank you for posting. When you use ~때문에, it is used directly after a noun and no particle is attached to the noun, so 여자친구 때문에 바빠요 itself is correct, there are no omitted particles!

Cheers,

Lyn

안녕하세요.

여자친구 때문에 바빠요. I know particles are omitted from time to time but if this was re-written, would it be - 여자친구을 때문에 바빠요.

감사합니다.

Hi Mariel,

Thanks for posting. 을/ㄹ 것이다 and 을/ㄹ 거예요 are essentially the same thing, but the difference is in the formality level, the former is informal and the latter is informal formal. Both express a strong intention to do something in the future.

Hope this was of help!

Best,

Lyn

Can you please explain the conjugation 을/ㄹ 것이다 and 을/ㄹ 거예요?. Or are they the same?
