Actually, in this case, while it is grammatically correct, it sounds a little off.

It would be much more natural to say "I'm looking for someone..." or "I'm trying to find someone..."

It is one of those usage disagreements, I guess.
However, when I googled 'I am finding', I found out that such a expression is used a lot, like 'I am finding who I am'.

What's up with that?

I may not have the best answer to this, but I'll try...

As you know, 찾다 in Korean can mean "to find" (to search for / to look for) or "be found," depending on the context. However, in English, when you say, "I'm finding...," it usually emphasizes that you are in the process of realizing something.

For example:

I'm finding this hard to believe.
I'm finding this to be harder than I expected.

However, in some cases, "I'm finding..." can also be equivalent to "I'm going to find" or "I will find" or "I intend to find."

For example:

When this is over, I'm finding a better solution.
If he doesn't show up again, I'm finding someone else to do the job.

When you are actually in search of something, it is more natural to say, "I'm looking for..."

For example:

I'm looking for my keys. (= I'm trying to find my keys.)
I'm looking for a language partner. (= I'm trying to find a language partner.)

It's natural to use "I'm trying to find" because the emphasis is placed on the fact that you are currently in the process of looking for something or someone.
