I was listening to the song "가로수 그늘 아래 서면" by 이문세.

There is a line which goes "이렇게도 아름다운 세상 잊지 않으리 내가 사랑한 얘기..."

"잊지 않으리" - what does the ending ~으리 mean?

In this case "이렇게도 아름다운 세상 잊지 않으리" I think the simplest explanation is 잊지 않을 것입니다 (I) shall not forget (such a beautiful world)

Note: Wow! If 으리 was your only difficulty in the above lyrics I must say your Korean is excellent!

~으리: an artistic/poetic archaic word ending (almost always introspective) similar in use to '~을 것입니다' that may show supposition (represent a guess) of the narrator, indicate intention or motive, and may even provide subtle contrast between what is idealistic and a current condition. It may also serve as a question mark to ponder the intention/will/motive of the target listener, depending on how it is used.

About your question, 잊지 않으리.
The better English translation of -으리 is "will" that indicates the speaker's will.
For examples,
먹지 않으리 "will not eat"
가지 않으리 "will not go"
잊지 않으리 "will never forget"

잊지 않으리 comes from 잊지 않겠다. The meaning of both sentences 잊지 않으리 and 잊지 않겠다 is same! "will never forget"
먹지 않으리 comes from 먹지 않겠다.
가지 않으리 comes from 가지 않겠다.

Simply think like this - it's one of sentence endings.
잊지 않겠다 (잊지 않을 것이다) = 잊지 않으리라 = 잊지 않으리

To know the usage of 으리 is not important here.
What's important then? To know where 으리 came from!
잊지 않다 "don't forget" → 잊지 않겠다 (잊지 않을 것이다) "will never forget" = 잊지 않으리라 = 잊지 않으리.
가지 않다 "don't go" → 가지 않겠다 (가지 않을 것이다) "will NOT go" = 가지 않으리라 = 가지 않으리.
먹지 않다 "don't eat" → 먹지 않겟다 (먹지 않을 것이다) "will NOT eat" = 먹지 않으리라 = 먹지 않으리.

Well my korean is not good enough to understand your explanations in Korean... But your explanation in English is very helpful! I guess this form can be considered an antiquated usage more found in poetic compositions? When I think hard, I believe I've heard it used before, but only in 사극...

I did have difficulties with the rest of the lyrics but they were easily solved with a dictionary

Tim -- "shall" and "will" are 99.9% identical in meaning when it comes to showing intent ex: ~~I shall not forget ~~I will not forget

likewise, "will" may also mean "intention" or "motive" as in the state of the mind or heart
