First, to Dustin...
Great to know that my lessons and these practice sheets actually help you improve Korean.
"I am so~~~ happy to know that", "Thank you for sharing it with me..."
Second, to NUoMichelle5466...
You wrote first,
1. "please come in"
hint: (eo seo o se yo) 어거오세요?
Great! a small mistake -
서(seo) not 거(geo); therefore,
어서오세요.
second you wrote,
2. "here" & "there"
hint: (yeo gi) & (jeo gi) 예기 & 저기
Great! a small mistake -
여(yeo) not 예(ye); therefore,
여기.
third you wrote,
3. "this" & "that"
hint: (i geot) & (jeo geot) 이것 & 저것?
Does the ㅅbecome a "t" if you use it at the end of a word? like ㅅis a "s" sound but does it change once you put you at the end of a words?
"Yes, you are correct!" That's why romanization can't always work in Korean; especially in writing.
fourth you wrote,
4. "these" & "those"
hint: (i geot deul) & (jeo geot deul)
이것들 & 저것들
"PERFECT!!!"
Fifth you wrote,
5. "person" & "persons"
hint: (sa ram) & (sa ram deul)
사람&사람들 i thought 사람 could mean either person or persons ...
"EXCELLENT!" Yes, 사람 means either person or persons when you add number before 사람; for example, 두 사람 "two people" , 세 사람 "three people"... However, when you say, "there are many people", "many people" translates as 많은 "many" 사람들 "people" - 많은 사람들.
B. Lesson Focus: "How is?" and "How about?" - 어때요? eo ddae yo?
you wrote,
1. "How is here? / How about here?"
예기에어때요?
여기 "here" + 어때요? "how is/how about?" - 여기 어때요?
you wrote,
2. "How is there? / How about there?"
거기어때요?
"Great!"
거기 "there" + 어때요? = 거기 어때요?
3. "How is this? / How about this?"
이거어때요? "Excellent!"
4. "How are those? / How about those?"
나도 몰라...
"that" is 저것 and "those" is 저것 + 들 = 저것들.
저것들 "those" + 어때요? "how is/how about?" = 저것들 어때요?
5. "How about my clothes?"
제옷 어때요?
"Great!"
And I'm not really sure about the rest of them .. please help me .
Okay. Here are my hints.
6. "How is coffee? / How about coffee?"
"coffee" is 커피(keo-pi)
7. "How is Korean? / How about Korean?"
"Korean" is 한국어(han-guk-eo)
8. "How is this Bi-bim-bab? / How about this Bi-bim-bab?"
"this" is 이(i) + "Bi-bim-bab" is 비빔밥 = 이 비빔밥(i bi-bim-bab)
9. "How about this table?"
"this" is 이(i) + "table" is 책상(chaek-sang) = 이 책상(i chaek-sang)
10. "How are the side dishes here? / How about the side dishes here?"
"the side dish" is 반찬(ban-chan)
"the side dishes" is 반찬 + 들(deul) = 반찬들(ban-chan-deul)
"here" is 여기(yeo-gi)
Therefore, the sentence goes like this - "here" + the side dishes" + "how are?"
Then, you can write...
Thanks for listening and doing this practice sheet.
cheers,
Tim
