puns.. and other funny word jokes.. 말장난 ^^

i saw a funny pun on tv the other day, and i was wondering if anyone had any other good ones to share. ^^

someone said 기가 막혀~ and then someone else said 귀가 막혀 and covered their ears ㅋㅋㅋㅋ

i also saw a show once with a segment called 절대 웃지 않은 식당 where the people had to eat using whatever they were given as utensils without laughing or they would get hit. anyway, one guy had to eat with a barbie doll (using her legs as chopsticks and her hands as spoons) and he used her hand to pick up a piece of tofu and said 손두부! ㅋㅋㅋㅋ

Whenever I say 귀엽다 my friend always shoots back, "귀 있는데..."

And another thing... when I ask "XX~어떻게 해?" people reply, "잘." Hehe.

*edit* and i am really slow, apparently. i had to read it again to realize 귀엽다 sounds like 귀없다 ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ...! that is funny too.

OK this one is going to be hard to explain since I have long since given up getting the language bar on this particular PC. Anyways, my wife's family uses the word "Tamanegi" for onion. I think its a colloquial word. Anyway, I like to say "the baby that looks like me cut the onions", so "baby that looks like" sort of sounds like "DDalmun Ey-gi". Does that make any sense?

Then there is this sushi place that the in-laws have started going to because they are friends with the cook and they call the place "dokdo sushi". well, dokdo is that island that koreans are always throwing a fit about, and so they always say "dokdo-nun oori ddang!" (dokdo is our land). well since its a resturant I say "Dokdo-nun oori shik-dang!"(dokdo is our restaurant) which I personally think is hilarious, but the inlaws don't find it funny for some reason. I don't know how thats not funny. ITS HILARIOUS!

I've heard that in a somewhat different variation. Some kids were saying about my daughters: "어어어어, 귀 없다!". Considering from that, it must be a very common pun in Korean...

In fact, the word "Tamanegi(たまねぎ)" is a Japanese word for onion.
Korean people still use Japanese words sometimes. Especially older people.
