Intermediate lesson -leaving a voicemail question

This line:
"...걱정 된다 얘."

What is this "얘" business all about? it wasn't mentioned in the vocab or grammar points and it caught me off guard when I heard it.

In the sentence, 걱정된다 얘, this '얘' is an expression that women usually use to address each other Its comes from 이 아이야. This gives the sentences a very feminine touch

So when a girl's friend cooked for her, she can say 진짜 맛있다 얘. and it means the same thing as 진짜 맛있다 or 진짜 맛있어, but adding that 얘 makes it sound very feminine.

Wouldn't it typically be 얘야?

얘야 is most commonly used for the beginning of the sentence, because it's really 'calling' someone with '야' at the end, like 현우야, 경은아, 성주야, and etc,

but in case of 얘, it's just used on its own when it's attached to the end of a sentence.

예쁘다, 얘.
너무 좋겠다, 얘.

and etc
