The audio blog this morning inspired me to find a photo of an owl I took on my back porch. And here it is:



I know this animal as 부엉이 but in the podcast it is 올빼미. I think this is a good example of a sound word or onomatopeia (sp?) in Korean. There are many of these (and this might be an idea for a podcast ).

That's a good idea actually. We could actually have a culture class on different sounds of different onopematopia (? - this word scares me)

The word for onomatopeia in Korean is "의성어"

(소리나는대로 붙인 이름들, right?)

Yeah it will be a very interesting lesson indeed!

I watched My Tutor Friend Lesson II, and the scene where the boy and girl are comparing (kinda) their different animal sounds.........ah yes, I am rambling but that was a cute scene ^^
