Arriving at the Korean Airport

Postby whistleblower » August 13th, 2008 5:03 am

I have a couple of questions about the situation above. I would like to know whether anybody would be able to translate some common questions and answers for when people arrive at an airport, albeit Korea or another international airport. So the questions and answers that I would like translated are:

1. What is the purpose of your visit?
- I am visiting on holiday.

2. When will you return? or How long is your visit?
- I will leave in 2 weeks.
- I will leave on 25th February.

3. Have you visited Korea before?

4. Where will you be staying?
- I shall stay at the Continental Hotel.

Then the following utterances that are mentioned after the short interview with the immigration officer.

5. Enjoy your visit.

6. I am afraid you have not been granted to visit this country. (or something to that affect)

Many thanks in advance.

This website might be useful. It has questions and answers for arrival at the airport and living in Korea.

I hope this helps!

But this is a VERY formal situation, and please note that some of the words in my translation are not used in everyday Korean. ^_^

1. What is the purpose of your visit?
- I am visiting on holiday.

1. 한국에 방문하신 목적은 무엇입니까?
- 여행하러 왔습니다.

2. When will you return? or How long is your visit?
- I will leave in 2 weeks.
- I will leave on 25th February.

2. 언제 돌아가십니까? / 얼마나 체류하실 예정이십니까?
- 2주 있을 거예요.
- 2월 25일에 돌아가요.

3. Have you visited Korea before?

3. 전에 한국에 와 본 적이 있습니까?

4. Where will you be staying?
- I shall stay at the Continental Hotel.

4. 어디에서 머무를 계획이십니까?
- 컨티넨탈 호텔에서 묵을 계획이에요.

5. Enjoy your visit.

5. 즐거운 시간 되십시오.

6. I am afraid you have not been granted to visit this country. (or something to that affect)

6. 입국을 허가해 드릴 수 없습니다.
