Problems streaming video from Korean websites

Postby James » March 12th, 2008 2:31 pm

Is it just me? I have yet to stream a daum, naver, cyworld, mgoon, pandora streaming flash-based video to the end without waiting at the very least 15 minutes to buffer. After that I just give up. It's so ridiculous. I never have this problem with youtube and I can watch Korean online tv streams (mms:, .asx, etc.) just fine. What is the deal!?
(Yes, I got up on the wrong side of the bed today.)

Sorry to hear about that James. That's actually a common problem for people located outside of Korea. Bandwidth within Korea is blazing fast. Downloads are literally only a few seconds long. However, if you're located outside of Korea, it slows down tremendously.

Alot of Koreans studying abroad are always complaining about the same problems that you just mentioned. Not sure why that is... :( But I totally feel you on that one!

Thanks, Keith. I thought I was the only one. I'll stay away from these video sharing sites for now lest I pull all my hair out in frustration.
