Help with this Korean sentence

I have just learned how to say 'Please help me' in Korean. Jom dowa juseyo. I was just told Jom is please. I was previously told if I ask for 'water please' I say mul juseyo. If juseyo is please and Jom is please why is it used twice in the sentence 'Please help me'? If juseyo in that sentence does not mean please why has the meaning of the word changed when used in this context? Very confusing for a Westerner to understand.

You could simply say 도와주세요 (dowajuseyo)

도와 (dowa) comes from the verb 돕다 (dobda) which means 'help, assist'

주세요 (juseyo) comes from 주다 (juda) which is 'to give'

주세요 (juseyo) doesn't really mean please, it is the polite way to ask for something. Most english speakers translate that to 'please give me'
so you would be saying 'please give me help'
