when using this verb do you write 에게 after the person you are inviting?? i know its a dumb question but I'm just trying to be sure because technically you're GIVING somebody an invite.

There are no dumb questions!! It is always good to ask

I do understand where this comes from.

You could understand -에게 as in To, or Dear.

So in the beginning when you invite someone you could say,

(invitee)에게,

-------
------
-----

(inviter)가 or 올림, 드림 depending on which one you are sending it to!;)
