깡??

Postby mikuoh3426 » April 19th, 2013 9:23 pm

Sorry this is such a stupid question but!!
What means the 깡 in 감자깡??
My friend sent me a picture of a snack and asked me to read it because idk he knows i'm studying Korean and likes to do that any time he sees hangul somewhere.
It's obviously a fried potato snack/stick/twist thing, but i can't find an actual meaning for 깡 in this context, it bothers me that i don't know why it's used here. Does it just mean snack?
i literally could not find it anywhere..

Hello mikuoh,

Your friend definitely picked the good one!!! This is definitely a yummy snack!! :D

As it is a snack name, it is really hard to say what that literally means.

It is one of kind that you put on as a snack name but you could kind of guess as 깡 to be used as in fried.

It would probably the same context as lolli pop being a lolli pop!:p

Thank you
