Typing hangul on keyboard

Postby tobyhirsch5418 » March 21st, 2013 4:26 pm

Hi, I have a question about typing hangul on a keyboard, sorry if this has already been answered.

Normally, if you type a piece of hangul, it is added to the character that is already there, like beside it, or below it.
But how do you move on to the next character without it automatically adding to the previous character? I find myself
hitting space, to stop adding to the previous character, then hitting backspace to go back again next to the previous character
to start a new one. Is there a way to stop adding to the previous character automatically without doing this? Thanks.

Hi tobyhirsch5418,

how do you move on to the next character without it automatically adding to the previous character?
Your way is correct. awesome.

You can hitting space, to stop adding to the previous character, then hitting backspace to go back again next to the previous character.

If you have any questions, please let me know.

Thank you!

My Korean friend gave me a great answer to this question,

He said to just keep typing onto the next character.

Even though it appears that the next consonant will be added to in the pachim position, once you add the next "vowel"
to that, it pushes it automatically to the next character, making it a new character. This now seems pretty obvious, but I was confused because it seemed like it was going to automatically add to the previous character. But it will push it to the next character.

Just thought I'd share this incase somebody else had a similar experience

Thanks!

Thank you so much Toby,

We appreciate your opinion!:)

I bet a lot of our listeners would go through these kinds of problems as Korean could be tricky by batchim as you have mentioned :)

Thank you so much again for sharing information with us!:D
