I am scanning the boards on here, just signed up. I am trying to learn Korean cause I want to go there one day, so far I only know a couple of words (Annyong hasseyo, Saranghae, Asamidah (sp? its supposed to be sorry, I don't know the english writing for it)

there are also korean name generators (mostly for fun) if u want.

Park jin Mi indeed came from the site I quoted above, Since i am a beginner in Korean I have been reading everything I can and I am trying to comment on the more... ah, updated? Posts, I will deffinantly be checking to see what Chinese character is in the name, thank you for your response.

I have learned a few more words since my last posting, it looks like I totally butchered the spelling on it.

It's great to know you here!
Your name in Korean would be "조시아 나단".
If you'd like to write your name in Korean, you could use it.
However, you want to get a real Korean name.
We usually have a meaning of the name, because we take chineses characters to the name meaning.
For example, "미아". "미" from the chinses characters "美" means beautiful and "亞" means Asia.
So, that name means "the beautiful man in Asia".
It depends on what the chinese characters take.

There are lots of Korean name lists on the google.
Please, look over and take one which you like the best.

"do-mih-NEEK" according to Naver's dictionary it should be "도미니크"

but seeing how your name means "lord" I would make a Korean name for you of "Juhee" 주희 (主姬) with the Hanja (Chinese character) meaning something like "lord girl" 主姬 it is kind of rare Hanja for this name I think so it might be a little strange --

Thanks to trutherous, your name Dominique could be 도미니크 or it could be simply 도미닉.

Some would pronounce do-mi-ni-que or do-mini-q depending on Koreans and as it's a foreign language, it's quite hard to pick which one is right.

If it's Korean, there's certain rule that applies regardless of sound but again it's foreign word so the closer to how Koreans call, think it would be the best shot!;)

But people Koreans in Republic of Korea would call 도미닉?

It would be really hard to find calling that name as 다민익 in Korea unless there's someone like me who lived both Korea and the States

Hi everyone, actually im a newbie and I can't even read hangul and can't speak in a conversation. I just knew some basic greetings and a few words.
