어떤 means 'what kind of', while 무슨 means 'what'.

For example, you can say

어떤 음식이 좋아? (to mean 'what kind of foods do you like?'

and

무슨 음식이 좋아? (to mean 'what foods do you like'?)

It means usually almost same, but a little bit different.
