How do you say (sort of jokingly) something like, “don’t hide from your true feelings”? For example, a friend inadvertently said something that could be twisted to mean that she likes me...and I wanted to jokingly respond in that way. What would be the phrase?

1. 거짓말하지마... [geo-ji-mal-hajima] "don't lie to me"
2. 속이지말고 말해봐 [so-giji-malgo malhaebwa] "please don't hide any, just say the truth"
3. 뻥치지마 [bbeong-chijima] "don't play a joke on me"
4. 그냥 사실대로 말해봐 [geu-nyang sasildaero malhaebwa] "simply say the truth"
5. and many more...

To honestly say, I really don't know what is the correct answer for you...
If you really want to know what I would say, you should have given me the 'exact sentence' your friend said to you...
That would really help...

Well at least you ask about the difficult expressions Thats why I handed this one over to Tim or Sean first -- now that we have a response I will comment also:

"don’t hide from your true feelings" is very difficult to translate because of the special use of the preposition "from" in this particular case, indicating a self-deceiving with regard to emotion. I will offer some thoughts and hopefully Tim or Sean will better understand the English phrase "don’t hide from your true feelings" and offer a more accurate, adequate, and culturally acceptable translation.

so I was thinking of the idea of "true feelings" being something like '신실한 마음' (true heart) or '개인 감정' (personal feeling) and then I thought of "do not hide from" ~~으로부터 숨지 말라 but it just winds up being a silly sentence in Korean -- the real meaning I think is "don't deceive yourself about what's in your heart" something like 마음에 있는 감정에 스스로 속이지 말아라 --which is also pretty weird and negative sounding -- so ultimately "don’t hide from your true feelings" means "be true to your heart"
