Hello! I'm having problems with the pronunciation of these double consonant: ㄳ,ㄵ,ㄶ,ㄺ,ㄻ,ㄼ,ㄽ,ㄾ,ㄿ,ㅀ,ㅄ. The pronunciation depends if they're followed by a vowel, a consonant or nothing, is it right? What happens when a double consonant is followeb by a nasal consonant?

For example in this word: 없는
Where ㅂ + ㄴ = ㅁ and ㅅ + ㄴ = ㄴ
ㅄ followed by a consonant is pronunced ㅂ.
So the word is pronunced 엄는, is it correct?

But when there is a word like: 낡는
I know that when ㄺ is followed by a consonant
you have to pronunce both consonant, right?
ㄱ + ㄴ = ㅇ so how do I pronunce this word?

Let's see the easiest way to explain this....

With double consonants aka complex consonants, what is pronounced depends on if the following syllable is a vowel or not.

When the following syllable starts with a vowel, the second consonant of the double consonant will be pronounced along with the first.
ie. 없어 eob-seo

When the following syllable starts with a another consonant, usually the first consonant of the double consonant will be pronounced.
ie. 없다 eob-ta

But there are exceptions, especially double consonants with an ㄹ
ㄻ, ㄼ, ㄿ the second consonant will be pronounced
ㄺ, ㄽ, ㄾ, ㅀ the ㄹ will be pronounced

When there is no following syllable, double consonants are pronounced with the same rules as if they were followed by a consonant. Except for ㄺ, the ㄱ will be pronounced instead of the ㄹ.
Vowel following: ie. 밝아요 pal-ga-yo (It's bright)
Consonant following: ie. 밝다 pal-ta (to be bright)
No syllable following: ie. 닭 dak (chicken)
