i was told this is why they were called the korean tigers during the world cup. what a stretch. i love korea, but they sometimes have these superficial notions of what shows they're great. they also changed their spelling to corea at one point just so they would be further up the alphabet.

anyway, i thought korea looked more like a rabbit. i don't have a picture to show it though.

Hello mtothealcolm and Julia,

Why is it so important?
You want to know the truth?
The truth is "Korea is such a small nation!".
Yes, we shouldn't symbolize any nation with any animal.
America symbolizes as an eagle. NO, THEY ARE NOT EAGLES!
Korea symbolizes as a tiger / rabbit?? No, WE ARE NOT A TIGER NOT A RABBIT!
It's an egoism.
sorry,
cheers,

like i said, i love korea.
i don't mind korea saying that their symbol is a tiger. but looking at the map strictly from a visual point of view, it's really pushing it to say it most resembles a tiger.
i'm actually canadian, and our symbol is a beaver, which is not elegant, not ferocious, not bold, and even worse it is slang for a female body part.

Yes -- I meant 재주도 and even before I saw your reply I realized my mistake and returned to change it before anyone saw it.. but as usual, Sean, you are exceedingly helpful and quick to reply when a mistake can be corrected.

Yeah.. 전라남도 would be the left rear paw, of course the tiger shape also makes me feel sorry for the people living in 김해 -just under the tail there ya know.

So I guess the tiger that gave up on eating garlic and bitter herb to become human must have became the land, while the bear that finished the 100 days eating only bitter herb and garlic and succeeded in becoming a beautiful human female then gave birth to the founder of the Korean empire.
