Grammar Question

안녕하세요!! 저는 셋임니다! So let me start off by saying that I'm still in the Beginner Series and this question probably is far above my current level, but it stems from my knowledge of English and other Latin based languages and it's bugging me so I think it's time to tackle this.

It has to do with active verb-passive verb sentences.
For example: 'I am going to eat a meal.'
going=active, eat = passive and using Korean structure we'd have something like
'I meal to eat going'
and finally '저는 밥 먹다 가예요.'

Now I'm sure I missed some particles in there so feel free to correct that and spelling as well, but can anyone give me an answer to the active-passive verb thing. Do situations like that even exist in Korean for all I know they could be avoided or handled with some other grammatical device.

So here is my answer.
In this situation, you need to know " (verb stem) + 으러 가다." pattern, which expresses the purpose or reason for going somewhere.

" (verb stem) + 으러 가다." will be " be going to (do something)".

-으러 가다 is attached to the end of clauses that end in consonants.
책 읽으러 가요.->I'm going to read a book.

-러 가다 is attached to the end of clauses that end in vowels.
책 사러 가요.-> I'm going to buy a book.

So~ Yours will be "저는 밥 먹으러 가요."

저는 밥 먹다 가예요.' -> You should change the "먹다" verb.
먹다 --> "먹" is a verb stem of "먹다 ".

감사함니다 Julia! Yeah it is ahead of where I'm at, but my mind got caught up on it for some reason so I figured I'd ask and satisfy my curiosity.

So to satisfy you're curiosity my name is Seth so when I figured I'd get it as close as I could in Hangul which led to 셋 because of the lack of "th" sound, then I came to find out that 셋 is 3 which happens to be my number on my roller hockey team I decided to keep that as my name since it seemed wonderfully coincidental.
