I can understand that it puts a bit of focus on the expression used before it, but the exact usage is really slippery.

저의 여친한태 우리 아이스크림을 먹자고 했는데, 난 지금 다이트 중이다라고 했는데.
I had the feeling that she was trying to say "Hey, I'm on a DIET right now," trying to put emphasis on how she's dieting rather than right now.
또는...
저- 우리 클럽가자!
여친 - 싫어 피곤하단 말이야.
I get what they're trying to say, but the exact meaning is a bit unclear. Maybe if anyone has figured it out they might be able to shed some more light on this thing.
