isn't it cool in a way that your adoptive parents had a similar idea about your name (it being unisex) like your birth parents?
Also if you don't like your name maybe you could use only one syllable of it

You know what I did? Since I chose my Korean name myself (there's a story to that, too...) I didn't know what it meant either (cos I chose it by the sound of it).
I googled the name and tried to ask ppl who had that name what it meant. I actually found a mom whose young daughter's name is Kyu-Ree and she told me it is written
奎利
in Hanja (but I guess that's just one version to write it). Her English wasn't perfect but she tried to translate it and said that "Kyu" means star and "Ree" beneficial (??). I know an Yisae kyopo whose Korean name (he has two Korean names...) contains "kyu" as well and it also means star there.
If any hanja-literal ppl can explain the second syllable better to me that would be nice.
