| Jaehwi: 네. 한국의 백화점 상품권 department store gift card 은 백화점뿐만 아니라 온라인 스토어에서도 동네 슈퍼에서도 사용할 수 있거든요. Some department stores in Korea have supermarkets and online stores, so you can buy anything you want with a department store gift card. |
| Lan: 그런데 저는 백화점 상품권이 좋은 선물인지는 잘 모르겠어요. 선물을 주는 건 그 사람에게 필요한 것이 무엇일지 생각하는 과정도 들어가는 거잖아요. |

| Jaehwi: 네. 드립니다 is the honorific form of the verb meaning 'to give'. 그리고 축하 는 celebration, congratultions 이라는 의미구요. |

| Jaehwi: literally it means "to give my congratulations". 이 앞에 간단하게 '생일' 혹은 '생신'이라는 단어를 추가하면 Happy Birthday 라는 표현을 존대표현으로 만들 수 있어요. 생일 과 생신은 둘 다 birthday 라는 의미죠? |
