Do you know how to pronounce the batchim ㄺ(ㄺ) in Korean? |
ㄺ (k) |
ㄺ is never used at the beginning of a syllable. When used as a batchim at the end, the ㄹ(rieul) sound usually disappears, and it just sounds like ㄱ (k), a light, almost muted 'k' sound. |
The sound is made at the back of the mouth, with the back of the tongue gently contacting the upper palate, like ㄱ (k). |
However, there's an exception. If ㄺ is followed by ㄱ (giyeok), the ㄹ (rieul) sound does not disappear. |
Here are some examples. |
