| Lyn: [slow] ์ค๋ด์์ ๋ด๋ฐฐ ํผ์ง ๋ง์ธ์. (sillaeeseo dambae piji maseyo.) |
| Eric: The pattern for requesting someone to refrain from doing something has 4 elements. First, the phrase "indoor, inside a room." |
| Lyn: ์ค๋ด์์ (sillaeeseo). |
| Eric: Second, the noun, "cigarette." |
| Lyn: ๋ด๋ฐฐ (dambae). |
| Eric: Third, the verb stem, "to smoke." |
| Lyn: ํผ (pi). |
| Eric: And last, the phrase "please do not." |
| Lyn: ์ง ๋ง์ธ์ (ji maseyo). |
| Eric: Altogether, we have... "Do not smoke indoors." |

| Eric: at the end of the sentence. To specify which action to refrain from, you just need to put the verb stem in front of |

| Eric: Therefore, you can say โDonโt smokeโ as inโฆ |
| Lyn: ํผ์ง ๋ง์ธ์. (piji maseyo.) |
| Eric: Also, you can also add a location at the beginning as we have in the example. |
| Lyn: ์ค๋ด์์ ๋ด๋ฐฐ ํผ์ง ๋ง์ธ์. (sillaeeseo dambae piji maseyo.) |
| Eric: So remember that to request someone to refrain from doing something, simply say the verb stem plus |

| Eric: Here is another example meaning, "Do not eat ramen in the classroom." First, the phrase "in a classroom." |
