Jaehwi: Hi everyone. I am Jaehwi. Welcome back to Korean Weekly Words. Let’s see what we have for this week. This week’s theme is home tools. Okay let’s see what we have for this week. |
The first one is 나사 (nasa) which means “screw.” With that word, you can say something like 나사에는 나사가 많습니다. (Nasaeneun nasaga mansseumnida.) which means “In NASA, you can find a lot of screws.” I hope you can find them. NASA, 나사 (nasa), screws. |
Okay next we have 드라이버 (deuraibeo) which means “screwdriver.” Okay with that word, you can say 저는 드라이버를 이용해서 나사를 풀었습니다. (Jeoneun deuraibeoreul iyonghaeseo nasareul pureotsseumnida.) which means “I used a screwdriver to unscrew the screw” |
망치 (mangchi) which means “hammer.” I nail the nail. Okay with that word, you can say 저는 망치로 못을 쳤습니다. (Jeoneun mangchiro moseul chyeotsseumnida.) which means “With a hammer, I hit the nail.” |
Okay next we have 연장통 (yeonjangtong) “toolbox.” So 연장 (yeonjang) means “tools” and 통 (tong) means “box.” With that word, you can say 기술자들은 언제나 연장통을 곁에 가지고 있습니다. (Gisuljadeureun eonjena yeonjangtongeul gyeote gajigo itsseumnida.) which means “Mechanics always have a toolbox around.” |
