Jaehwi: Hi everyone. I am Jaehwi. Welcome back to Korean Weekly Words. Let’s see what we have for this week. This week’s theme is drinks. Is it alcohol? No, let’s see what we have for the theme.
Okay the first word we have is 차 (cha) tea. I want to have something like beer, wine but tea. So with that word, you can say 차 안에서 차를 마시고 있습니다. (Cha aneseo chareul masigo itsseumnida.) which means “I am drinking tea inside a car.” Car in Korean is also 차 (cha) so you have to be careful when you understand the meaning of the word 차 (cha). It can be tea, it can be car too.
Next we have 커피 (keopi) which means “coffee.” With that word, you can say 커피를 너무 많이 마셔서 잠이 안 옵니다. (Keopireul neomu mani masyeoseo jami an omnida.) which means “I cannot get sleep because I drank a lot of coffee.”
맥주 (maekju) which means beer. With that word, you can say 한강변에서 맥주를 마시는 건 정말 좋습니다. (Hangangbyeoneseo maekjureul masineun geon jeongmal josseumnida.) which means “It’s best to have beer near the Han River.” Buy the beer and by the river.
Okay next we have 과일 주스 (gwail juseu) which means “fruit juice.” 과일 (gwail) is the word meaning “fruit.” So with that word, you can say 운동을 한 뒤에는 과일 주스를 마십니다. (Undongeul han dwieneun gwail juseureul masimnida.) which means “After a workout, I drink fruit juice.”
물 (mul) which means “water.” With that word, you can say 제주도는 물이 맛있기로 유명합니다. (Jejudoneun muri masitgiro yumyeonghamnida.) which means “Jeju Island is well known for its delicious water.”
Next we have end. Okay that’s all for this week. I will see you next time. 다음 시간에 뵙겠습니다. (Daeum sigane boepgetsseumnida.) 안녕히 계세요. (Annyeonghi gyeseyo.)
