Jaehwi: Hi everyone. Welcome back to Korean Weekly Words. I am Jaehwi. Let’s see what we have for this week. The topic of the week is plants. |
The first word is 나무 (namu) which means “tree.” With that word, you can say (Jeoneun eoryeoseul ttae namue ollagagon haetsseumnida.) which means “When I was young, I used to climb trees.” |
Okay next we have 꽃 (kkot) which means “flower.” Okay with that word, you can say (Hangugui gukwaneun mugunghwakkochimnida.) which means “The national flower of South Korea is Rose of Sharon.” |
Next we have 잎 (ip) which means “leaf.” With that word, you can say (Tteogeul mandeul ttae tteok saie soripeul neosseumnida.) which means “When making rice cakes, you put pine tree leaves between rice cakes.” Because you know without anything between the rice cakes, it will just get together because it’s too sticky. |
씨 (ssi) which means “seed.” So with that word, you can say (Jeoneun subageul meogeul ttae ssido meoksseumnida.) which means “When I eat watermelon, I also eat seeds.” |
Okay next we have 풀 (pul) which means “grass.” When you go to a park in South Korea, you can see some sign saying (Pureul bapji maseyo.) which means “Don’t step on grass.” |
End. I hope you liked some of the words that we have this week. I will see you next week. (Daeum sigane boepgetsseumnida.) (Annyeonghi gyeseyo.) |
