| Hyunwoo: 언제까지 괜찮다 이런 나이는 없는데. Umm it’s how you feel. 사회적으로 socially active 한 사람이라면 더 빨리 you can stop calling people 오빠 earlier than other people. 그런데 대학생이고 if you are a university student and high school student, no problem to call everybody 오빠 who is older than you. |

| Keith: And that’s like common conjugation for that 당연하다 and then you just do 당연하지. |

| Keith: Of course. What are some other common conjugations that you use just of course? |
| Hyunwoo: For standard politeness situations, you say 당연하죠. |
| Keith: Hmm and these two are very, very commonly used when you make a statement. It’s kind of awkward if you just say 당연해요, 당연해. It’s a little awkward. |
| Hyunwoo: It is a little awkward. |
| Keith: Yeah so you kind of need that 당연하지. |
| Hyunwoo: 예. 그리고 다른 단어가 하나 있는데, 물론이죠. |
| Seol: 아 비슷한 뜻이네요. |
| Hyunwoo: 네, 물론이죠는 standard politeness level 존댓말로 말할 때는 많이 쓰는데 친구한테 물론 잘 안 하죠. |
| Seol: 아...그러면 standard politeness level에는 물론이죠를 더 많이 쓰고 intimate의 경우에는 당연하지를 쓰는 거예요? |

| Keith: Two very similar words but 물론 is used mostly in polite language. |

| Keith: Literally seems happy but here the subject is inferred, you seem happy… |

| Keith: Okay all right. So how did it come out in today’s conversation? |

| Keith: All right. Let’s go into the construction of this really quick. Now what was that descriptive verb that we just had? |

| Keith: To be expensive. Now we take the verb stem |

| Keith: And then we add the 아/어/여 conjugation over here but since the last syllable ends with the ㅏ, it’s just |

| Hyunwoo: 비싸 보이다 |
| Keith: It seems expensive and once again at the end of 보이다, that’s where you can conjugate the politeness level of the tense and whatever else. |
| Hyunwoo: 보이다, 보였다, 보여요, 보입니다. |
| Keith Okay so let’s have a couple of other examples. |
| Seol: 문제가 어려워 보이다. |
| Keith: That problem looks difficult probably on a test or something right? |
| Hyunwoo: 네, 그리고 건물이 높아 보이다. |
| Keith: That building looks tall. |
| Hyunwoo: Umm 좀 바보같지 않아요? |
| Keith: Yeah it sounds, well that building looks tall. 좀 바보 같아요. |
| Hyunwoo: Yeah 높다 하면 되는데. |
| Keith: Yeah. It seems like it’s tall. |
| Seol: Keith는 즐거워 보이다. |
| Keith: Keith is excited, joyful and merry. |
