| Jaehwi: Korean restaurants are a little different from other types of restaurants. |
| Jaehwi: When you’re ready to order in a Korean restaurant, you simply need to raise your hand and say 저기요 which means “Excuse me, there?” |
| Jaehwi: If you are eating in a traditional Korean restaurant, it’s normal to address the female staff in the restaurant as 아주머니 if they are over the age of 30. |
| Jaehwi: To male staff, you can use 아저씨. Listen again to what Mark said. |
| Mark: 아주머니, 여기 주문이요. |
| Jaehwi: If it’s too loud for the waiters to hear you, call the staff again. It’s not rude. |
| Jaehwi: Some of the most popular Korean dishes people order are 김치 찌개 or “Kimchi stew” and 순두부 찌개 or “stew with soft tofu.” |
| Jaehwi: These foods are a bit spicy, so If you don't like spicy foods, look for a dish called 불고기. |
| Jaehwi: 불고기 is sliced and seasoned barbecued beef. This is another popular dish among foreigners. |
| Jaehwi: If you're not quite sure what to order, ask the waiter 여기 뭐가 가장 맛있어요? |
| Jaehwi: It means “What's the most delicious food here?” and they will tell you a few of their most popular dishes. |
