| Keith: So listen in for that construction. Where is this conversation taking place? |
| Seol: This conversation takes place in front of a mirror, where two girls are putting on makeup. |
| Keith: And that happens all the time, all over the world. |
| Minkyong: Sure. |
| Keith: So, this conversation is between two friends, kind of, so they'll be speaking in informal Korean. |

| Keith: So how about we take a look at two girls putting on makeup in front of a mirror? |

| 진수: 뭐...? 에휴... |
| 채리: 흠... 진짜야, 보면 볼수록 예뻐. 안 그래? |
| 진수: 나는 너 보면 볼수록 짜증 나! |
| 채리: 왜? 너 질투해? 진수야, 내가 예쁜 것은 내 잘못이 아니잖아. |

| Keith: She has, literally, a princess disease. What's that mean? A princess disease? |
| Minkyong: It means that she's really full of herself. She thinks she’s so pretty, she's so nice, she's so beautiful. |
| Keith: So if someone is really concerned they're always in front of the mirror, saying things like... "Oh, I'm so beautiful. I'm so nice. My name is Minkyong. My name is Seol." |
| Keith: I'm just kidding. But what's that word? |
| Minkyong: 왕자병. |
| Keith: And that's literally a prince disease. But it's the same thing, except it's used for males who are really concerned. And... |

| VOCAB AND PHRASE USAGE |
| Keith: Alright. Let's take a look at the some of the words and phrases that came from this lesson. |
| Minkyong: My favorite word. 짜증나다. |
| Keith: "To get annoyed." But that isn't actually the best translation. I think it's used when you're frustrated. 민경, do you have an example of when you used it? |
| Minkyong: I used it a lot this week. 이번 주 많이 썼어요. When I was writing a lesson... and then it just disappeared all of a sudden. All the work that I did! That I didn't save! It all disappeared! 짜증나 |
| Seol: 짜증났겠다 |
| Keith: And I was sitting next to you so I what did I hear? |
| Minkyong: 아 짜증나. |
| Keith: And that's literally, "I'm getting annoyed." But personally, I like to translate it as "I'm cheezed..." It's a bit of American slang, so I'm not sure if everyone will understand that. But if you do, I think it's a better translation than "to be annoyed". So, how did it come out in this dialog? |
| Minkyong: 채리 was talking about how pretty she was. And then 진수가 이렇게 말 했어요. "나는 너 보면 볼수록 짜증 나!" |
| Keith: The more I see you, the more I get annoyed or get frustrated. If you didn't understand that sentence 100%, please stick around because that’s the grammar point we'll be looking into very shortly. But in the meantime, let’s move onto our next word. |
| Minkyong: Our next word is 잘못. |
| Keith: Fault, or mistake. And this is a noun. 잘못. But how do you say to make a mistake? |
| Minkyong: 잘못하다. |
| Keith: There's a different expression you can say, which means the same thing. How about "It's my mistake" or "It's my fault"? |
| Minkyong: You can say, 내 잘못이다. |
| Keith: And there we're using the copula, 이다. Not the verb 하다. |
| Minkyong: And remember to be careful of the pronunciation. Instead of 잘못…이다. It's pronounced as 잘못이다. |
| Keith: How about for someone who has a 공주병? It's not my fault I'm beautiful! |
| Minkyong: Well, it came out in our conversation just like that. 체리 said, 내가 예쁜 것은 내 잘못이 아니잖아. |
| Keith: It's not my fault I'm beautiful. And there, instead of 잘못이다. What did she say? |
| Minkyong: She said 잘못이 아니다. |
| Keith: That's literally, fault, not. And don't forget to have the subject marking particle in there. Alright, so that's going to do it for the vocab. How about we move on to the grammar section? |

| Keith: And this grammatical structure is translated as "the more I (verb), the more I" or "the more I (verb), the better (something)". |

| Keith: The more I study Korean, the more friends I make. So, before we get into the construction of this, how about we get into a sentence from the dialog? |
| Seol: 채리... the 공주병 said, 보면 볼수록 예뻐. |
| Keith: The more I look, the prettier I look. It's quite complicated in English, but in Korean, it's really a simple construction. |
| Minkyong: We have the verb 보다. |
| Keith: To see. |
| Minkyong: Then we take the verb stem 보 we and use it in two places. |
| Keith: Right it's the same verb, but we use it in the same two places. |
| Seol: So we take the verb stem 보. And first add on 면. Then we take the same verb and add on... ㄹ수록. |
| Keith: So what do we finally have? |
| Seol: 보면 볼수록. |
| Keith: The more I look... And now we just have to finish off the sentence. |
| Seol: 보면 볼수록 예뻐. |
| Keith: The more I look, the prettier I look. But if you noticed there, the way we finished the sentence was just 예뻐, which is literally pretty. |
| Minkyong: Yeah, but the construction right before that already adds the comparative -er. As in prettier. |
| Keith: Right, so all we need is a normal clause after that because the construction 면, 수록 already does all the work for us. Can we have a sample sentence? |
| Minkyong: 이 치즈케익은 먹으면 먹을 수록 맛있다. |
| Keith: The more I eat this cheesecake, the more delicious it is. |
| Minkyong: And if you noticed there, we added 으면 and 먹을. |
