| Hyunwoo: When you say DVD in Korean, how do you say it? |
| Gyeongeun: 디비디. |
| Hyunwoo: Just like you did now? |

| Hyunwoo: Do you always pronounce the letter V as B? |
| Gyeongeun: Yeah of course 당연하죠. 한국어에는 V 발음이 없잖아요. There is no V sound in Korean. |
| Hyunwoo: Yeah I know but I have noticed that a lot of people are starting to pronounce the Vs even while speaking Korean if the word comes from English. |
| Gyeongeun: Really? I don’t think so. |
| Hyunwoo: I think so. |

I think it will be nice if we introduce a few tech related words that Korean people use on a daily basis, even you use on a daily basis most of which come from the English language but are kind of changed into the Korean way of pronunciation. | Gyeongeun: 노트북 or 랩탑. |
| Hyunwoo: How about a cell phone? |
| Gyeongeun: 핸드폰 |

| Gyeongeun: 지금 집에 가려면 택시 타야 돼요. |
| Hyunwoo: If I want to go home now, I have to take a taxi. |
| Gyeongeun: Right. So (으)려면 is a grammatical structure that you can use when you want to say in order to do something, if you want to do something or if you are going to do something. |
| Hyunwoo: 네. And this structure can be broken down into two parts right? |
| Gyeongeun: 네. The part 으려 expresses intention or plan |
| Hyunwoo: And 면 expresses a condition. So together, (으)려면 means if you are going to or if you want to. Therefore this structure is mostly used along with expressions regarding plans or intention. So how do you form a sentence with this structure? |
| Gyeongeun: You take the verb stem and add (으)려면 at the end. |
| Hyunwoo: For example 예를 들어서? |
| Gyeongeun: 가다 is to go. So you make it 가려면 |
| Hyunwoo: If you want to go. |
| Gyeongeun: And 먹다 is to eat. So you make it 먹으려면 |
| Hyunwoo: If you are going to eat. Great, so let’s look at some more examples from this dialogue. |
| Gyeongeun: 네, 좋아요. 근데, 이거 보려면 어떻게 해야 돼? |
| Hyunwoo: But what should I do to watch this? |
| Gyeongeun: 이거 보려면? |
| Hyunwoo: To watch this? |
| Gyeongeun: DVD 플레이어 사려면 어디 가야 돼? |
| Hyunwoo: If I want to buy a DVD player, where should I go? |
| Gyeongeun: 빌리려면 5만원 줘. |
| Hyunwoo: If you want to borrow it from me, give me 50,000 won. Now how about some more sample sentences. 경은씨, how would you say in Korean if I want to go to Seoul station, how should I get there? |
