Caught in the act!

Postby austinfd » April 1st, 2008 4:43 am

When I was teaching in the States, it was always fun to catch students writing notes. I never embarrassed them by reading the notes out loud to everyone else. Instead, I would quietly read it to myself, and put it in my desk. Usually they clued me in to some of the social dynamics going on in my classroom.

Today I nabbed a note from one of my students here. So, I've attached it! His handwriting isn't the best, so that's the first trick....but he certainly had a lot to say, didn't he?

Since her handwriting isn't so clear:

**UPDATE: After some consultation with some very bilingual kids I know, it turns out this was written from a girl (백주현) to a boy (영욱). I'm also no longer sure exactly who I found it with, so who knows exactly what kind of trouble I caused!

Haha, I'm reassured that it was a girl writing the note. After I read the first sentence, "...너한테 반했어" I was a little worried  ...

Couldn't a guy write that about a girl?

Except that 영욱 definitely seems like a boy's name.

And I don't think a guy would put hearts all over the paper...

You just know he is telling his friends. What are friends for, anyway? :)

this is funny. hahahha. i used to pass notes to my friends in class too when i was in primary and secondary school. and i always thought if the teacher comes and asks for the note i'd eat it up. ahhaha.

then in polytechnic, we used texting instead. i'm really grateful to the texting function on mobile phones.

Naver calls it a "zelkova tree" It is some kind of evergreen. There is a terrace underneath it that says "느티나무 언덕" I bet it is a popular meeting place.....just like I heard that a lot of fights happen behind the kindergarten.
