FSI Korean

Postby Brakenjan » June 23rd, 2008 8:00 pm

I know I've posted this before but its a bit hidden and I found a more convenient place to download.
The FSI material is produced by the government of United States of America and therefore is in public domain. You can download the whole course (both books with audio) here:
http://www.freelanguagecourses.com/category/korean/ , (320MB)
They're very thorough and highly recommended, and also go well with KClass101.
If you want to have a look at the legal stuff go to http://www.fsi-language-courses.com/ and navigate to forums. Look around you'll find it.

Enjoy!

I remember stumbling across that a few months ago, but for some reason I wasn't impressed, I don't remember the reason why though. I am downloading it anyway, even though it just says "basics".

Don't be put off by the 'basic'. It might not be very advanced at the last lesson but I'd say its above intermediate level at this site.

Do you make your own cards for the flashcard program? I don't mind if I have to that is easy enough, or is there somewhere to download?

Yeah. The flashcard program is just a generic application for any flashcards. You create your own flashcards then it has some tess and so on. I didn't try myself as i was too lazy to make ones, I didn't find any premade ones on the internet either :(
I've never made or used flashcards myself but I think they may be quite helpful with this course, they introduce quite a few words in every lesson and thereafter knowledge of the word is assumed
