in the newbie lesson 12. .the line "ireum-i myo-yeyo?"..
and in the beginner lesson 15 the line "mwo-reul meokgoyo?"
why the use of "mwo" is different. .is is ryt if we say "mwo-reul ireumoyo?"
or "meokgoyo-ga myo-yeyo?"

I am a fellow student here and terrible at grammatical terminology, so I am probably not the best to help you with this; however, I will give my meager understanding:

"ireum-i mwo-yeyo?".. Your name what is? /What is your name?
"mwo-reul meokgoyo?" What eating? /What are you eating -Are you eating something?

Why is the use of "mwo" is different?

In the first case 뭐(예요?) is interrogative, questioning 'what is' about something.

In the second case 뭐 becomes a pronoun meaning 'something' or 'whatever' and takes the object particle 'reul.' making it the object of the subsequent interrogative verb pattern of 'to eat.'


Is it right if we say "mwo-reul ireumoyo?" or "meokgoyo-ga myo-yeyo?" -no, both are incorrect.

Keep up the study, these things will come naturally over time without a need for a great deal of dwelling on grammar.
