holdfast's answers are excellent but there is a problem with that question above.
In that case, "ji?" doesn't mean "right?", actually.
That is a self-asked question.
It's very often used in some indistinct situations.
You can say like that when you don't want to ask directly to someone.
because you dislike him/her,
because you don't know to be polite or casual to him/her,
because you are not very close with him/her,
and many other cases.
