I have to give my thoughts on Rosetta Stone. I don't like it at all. I had Rosetta Stone when I was learning Spanish.
Actually, it could be a good program if it was geared towards beginners and (*possibly*) lower intermediates. But the company wants to promote "fluency", and that will not happen by only using Rosetta Stone. And with so many alternatives out there that are much cheaper and free, it's useless to spend such an amount of money, in my opinion of course.
Not just my opinion, but someone else that feels the same way:

Sorry for the shameless plug, but you'll get so much more from your money (might i add a cheaper price) here at KC101.com. (**ok KC101 staff....i did what you asked...where's my check? ~~ haha just kidding guys) ^^
All jokes aside, continue shopping and searching around before committing $300 - $1000 to one program.
Oh btw, I didn't buy the "Spanish" version of Rosetta Stone and I will not say how I got it. (**echoing evil laughter**)
