Beginner Lessons vs. Newbie Lessons

Postby robleeteach » August 28th, 2009 9:09 am

What's the difference between the two different categories? Are they at the same level?

The Newbie lessons help you get used to the sound of Korean. I've heard Korean all my life, so I only listened to the first season. It doesn't contain that much grammar and it's not so linear. It's basically for people who have zero knowledge of Korean. I should look at them though, because they have good vocabulary in them that I'm lacking.

The Beginner lessons are linear. The lessons build on each other. Also, there's more grammar once you get to the second season. But it's not that hard with practice. I'm actually looking forward to starting the Intermediate lessons because there's a lot of grammar that I have yet to tackle.

The way I went about it is:
Newbie Season 1 -> Beginner S1 -> Beginner S2 -> Beginner S3

And currently I'm on the last lesson of Beginner Season 3.
