What does 보이지 mean?

Does it mean 'looks like'?

What is the function of 이지?

Thank you.

보이다 is a passive form of 보다.(to see)
And yes, it could mean 'looks like' or 'to be able to see', 'to be seen', etc..

지 is an ending for asking or confirming.
And of course 지요(죠) is the polite version.

Or it could be the part of ~지 않다

A: 저거 보이지? You see that, huh?
B: 응, 당연히 보이지. Yeah, absolutely (I can see that).

A: 저 사람 좀 피곤해 보이지 않아요? Don't you think that man looks tired?
B: 그래 보이죠? Do you think that too?
