Copsticks word of the day?

Hi

I get the word of the day and today I got Chopsticks.

Questions is this though why is the first syllables bottom character an S even though the phonetic doesn't even come close to S?

Specifically the bottom character of the first syllable. I notice the second Syllable is only one G character ( ㄱ ) rather then a Double GG Character ( ㄱㄱ ) so from what I read the ㅅ should sound like S rather then G so why the difference in the Phonetic and pronunciation of this?

The rest of the word I read right.
