grammar for "l"in "kal"

Postby JTSoftware » May 20th, 2016 1:07 am

Hi,

In the following sentence:

오늘 사무실에 갈 필요가 없어요.

What's the grammar for having "ㄹ" in "갈"?

I assume "(place)에 갈" must be a pattern clause for "going to (place)".

Thanks.

Hi John,

Thanks for posting.
'갈' is the future form of the verb '가다'. It means 'will go'. The declarative future form would be:

갈 거야 (informal)
갈 거예요 (formal)
