Help with conjugation -합니다 & -해요

I was looking for some conjugation help between the two different endings:

-합니다 and -해요 style

For endings I've researched off the web I've found the following...

-합니다
+ㅂ니다 present tense
+ㅆ습니다 past tense
Rule:
1. Put in polite style (i Believe 해요 style)
2. drop 요
3. Add ㅆ below the 아 or 어
4. Then add 습니다
+겠습니다 future
+고 있습니다 present progressive (-ing)
To make it negative place I wrote 다 / 까 (안 in front of verb) not sure exactly what I was saying there

-해요
+아요 afterㅏ,ㅗ, +어요 after anything else
+ㅆ어요 past (same rule as above)
+겠어요 future
+고 있어요 present progressive

Example: 찾다=to find

-합니다
찾합니다 (not sure) Im looking for
찾았습니다 I found
찾겠습니다 I will look for
찾고 있습니다 I'm looking for

-해요
찾아요 I'm looking for
찾았어요 I found
찾겠어요 I will find
찾고있어요 I'm looking for

I'm don't think I have conjugated them right, but if you could help it would be greatly appreciated

About me: I can be found on Facebook and would love to make some more friends (Dustin spitz). I'm not in any Korean classes and for the most part I'm trying to teach myself. I love korean culture and especially the food my grandma speaks Korean fluently and I do learn a little from her but she Also learns rules like I do. Ex: she never realized 는/은 differences in writing because she just always learned it that way. So she also likes when I bring her new stuff she never actually paid attention too when she speaks or writes in Korean.

Happy to be on he website hope to learn a lot. Also hope we can cover this subject even if it's just one tense at a time.

Spelling errors -- oh sure blame the equipment -- it doesn't matter the equipment I make mistake anyway in either English or Korean

You see in my day (I am a fossil) we never wrote 습니다 we wrote always 읍니다 and carried over the previous consonant sound.. with a few notable exceptions. In your query I may have found another reason they should never have changed it (if it ain't broke don't fix it). Thank you very much!

Perhaps you were correct to be unsure -- 찾습니다 I believe is correct, but I have also seen the form 찾읍니다

마나서 반갑습니다 저주하고 주리아. Not sure if I can use 하고 here as and when I learned it in the book I was talking about food mostly.

Haha I haven't typed on an itouch that much so yeah could be my fault. Or yeah i could just be blaming my itouch for making all these mistakes :p

I still have to build up some vocabulary but I do know a little, but please do correct me if I'm wrong because I do have to learn some more grammar.

There was a verb that might have messed me up somewhere but I think I got it now

Simple sentences:
저는 가게에 달리었어요. (I ran to the store.[past])
제 사제 아제가 안먹겠어요. (my younger brother will not eat vegetables)

I'll have to look at the sentence building parts of the forum

Anyway... George (영훈님) explains it well. Nothing much to say about...

Anyway...
I'd simply correct some of your Korean sentences (trust me that I don't like correct people).

1. you wrote, "마나서 반갑습니다 저주하고 주리아".
마나서 should be 만나서.
I am not sure about the meaning of 저주하고...??
actually 저주하다 means "to curse" (I don't think you meant that!^^)
therefore, it's better to say, "만나서 반갑습니다 줄리아 (Julia)!"

2. you wrote, "네, 제 할머니 한국어 만해요" (yes my grandma speaks Korean)
One thing I just notice here is that You didn't attach "Particles" to the Subject (할머니) and to the Object (한국어).
You can say that not saying or not adding particles is not a big deal but, in my opinion it's a big deal if you really want to improve your Korean skills.
Therefore, it's better so write, "네, 제 할머니'는" 한국어"를" 말해요". That's a sentence!

3. you wrote, "저는 가게에 달리었어요. (I ran to the store.[past])"
First, you give yourself enough time to learn about various changes in Korean verbs. As you know well, it's quite hard to master.
달리다 (standard) - 달렸다 (past)
"to(toward) the store" is 가게"로". you ran toward to the store, therefore using "로" is better.
therefore, it's better to say, "저는 가게"로" 달렸어요".

4. you wrote, "제 사제 아제가 안먹겠어요. (my younger brother will not eat vegetables)"
"younger brother" is 동생. Since it is a Subject, you'd better to attach a Particle - 은, so it becomes 동생은.
"vegetables" is 야채. Since it is a Object, you'd better to attach an (Object) particle - 를, so it becomes 야채를.
"Will not eat" is 안 먹을거예요. (too complicated / too much to explain about this).
Therefore, "My younger brother will not eat vegetables" is...
제 동생은 야채를 안 먹을거예요.

Dustin, my suggestion to you is to learn Particles first. What you need to learn is not Verbs right now.
After learning Particles, making Korean sentences gets easier, simpler and clearer.

haha yeah i'll have to look around the forums,

no i didn't mean "to curse" haha, i meant George and Julia, my name formation could use a little work too. :p In my korean book, the unit was about food. Saying like i will order this and that, or i will eat this and that.

they said to add 하고 after your object, so maybe like. they also said it could mean with. This was in the first chapter.

저는 오징어를하고 사과를 억어요.

I'm eating squid and an apple. (just a little random)

not sure if i have particles correct, i've been on an off study do to school and summer job so i may need to review them.

은/는 subject particle
을/를 object particle
이/가 i think is if the subject is affecting the object (goes on object)
러 as in order too do something (not sure if this counts as a particle.

at the moment those are the ones i know, a little bit about. but i'll see if i can find a post with the particles on it.
My trouble starts when you get more than one subject and I'm not sure if i put particles on all of them?

I don't have a problem with being corrected, just shows i can improve. so i'll take your advice and move to particles over verbs
