lesson notes displaying incorrectly

I recently wanted to try and use my lesson notes, since that was part of my subscription. I'm a totally blind learner using a screen reader, and the notes don't seem to display properly. My screen reader doesn't read hangul, but I can fix that... what makes me think this is that there should be some english, right? Yet there isn't... when I open the pdf, this is what I get:
