Prepaid Phones

Hi! I'm going to Korea for six months, and am thinking of getting a prepaid phone. I already have a phone that my friend used to use in Seoul, so I will probably register it with that phone, but I don't know how to go about registering for a number.

Any tips on where to go? What to watch out for? What I should know???
