Tips, Tools & Success Strategies For Mastering Korean ‘Til 2022
This is the monthly, no-holds-barred newsletter giving you tried and tested learning methods to help you reach your language goals this year.
Last time, you learned how to boost your motivation and bounce back after missing a goal. I was bouncing back myself, and aiming for 12 minutes of Russian conversation. Unfortunately, I failed. I reached 10 minutes, so I hit the previous goal I’d set, but I didn’t quite make 12.
It can be hard to get back on track, and it sometimes takes more time than you think. It’s not just “do double the work.” So now I find myself at 10 minutes in August when my goal is 30 by the end of the year. In the past, I’ve changed the goal when I got so behind, but this time, I want to stick with it. You may also be wondering what to do if you’re not on pace to hit your goal.
The way I see it, I can do one of two things: lower my expectations or extend my deadline. But I want to hit my goal, so I’m going to find a third option: putting in more time.
It’s been a very busy year, and the pandemic makes things hard. But I still need to step it up. I’m not on track with my goals… and I’m not on track with the pace of a normal language learner.
I’ll explain in this Inner Circle
And listeners, let me know: What’s your small, measurable monthly goal? And what’s the deadline?
See you next month!
