Hi Roy,

You are right. Not everyone is into K-pop.

And there are many Korean singers who perform non-Kpop music.

Claire

I'm not sure about the absolute figures/numbers, but if I extrapolate from various quick polls I've come by and then compare the absolute populations of the countries from which site visitation is made, it might be possible. Obviously there are different demographic cross-sections to consider. But I find it a perturbing presumption by foreigners that every Korean is into k-Pop.

Hi Roy,

Really?!? I can't imagine because K-pop is very popular in Korea.

K-pop seems to be more popular outside of korea than it is IN korea.

Hello!

I finished doing my presentation today, and it went very well!!!

I gave a brief geography of Korea, and then spoke a little about Korean people and society (mostly the politeness levels), then spoke about a Korean festival (Seollal), then spoke about Korean food (including Kimchi :D), then K-Drama and then K - Pop. I also clubbed together a few of my favorite K-Pop songs and made a video and played it. Quite a few people seemed to like it, and of course, I had friends who were already into K-Pop, so THEY loved it!!!

I don't think I could've spoken as I did had I already not known something about Korean culture. So thanks to you, everyone at KoreanClass101.com for helping me learn what I now know.:smile:

You guys rock. I'm not even kidding.

안녕하세요.

Nisha - You can say 오늘은 한국과 한국의 문화에 대해서 알려드리겠습니다.

Seven - That's a great idea! 김치찌개 is easy to make, delicious and good for vegetarians.

You might want to bring some cooked rice for 김치/김치찌개 which might be too spicy and salty otherwise.

Good luck with your presentation!

감사합니다.

Nisha,

오늘, 제가 한국문화에 (or you can say 사회에 - society) 대하 설명해 드릴게요 (formal way of saying 할게요).

You can also say 얘기해 줄게요. - I'll tell you about (it).

Buy some homemade kimchi from your local Korean grocer or restaurant and make kimchi stew with tofu and bean paste

Nisha

I also plan to cook a Korean dish and bring it along so they can taste. Will that be a good idea, do you think? What dish would you suggest. Most of my classmates are vegetarian, and I'm an amateur cook, so I want it to be something simple. I was thinking about kimchi, but I'm afraid I don't have the time to let it ferment. Any suggestions for me, please? What will be easy for me to cook?

안녕하세요 !

Thank you so much!!! I think I have some really good ideas now!!

One other thing. How do you say "today I'm going to talk about Korea and it's culture" ?

Thank you! :smile::smile:
