재미있는 사진들

A few days ago, there was a discussion in another thread about turning a verb into an adjective. Check it out here:

One of my students recently wrote something that was a great example of how this pattern isn't possible in English. He was writing (in English) about going fishing with his family. He wrote "We caught lots of fish. Later, we made spicy soup with our caught fish." In Korean, 잡은 물고기 is exactly the way to describe those fish, but in English we make a whole big phrase, 'the fish that we caught'

Anyway, I found another example on a hotel sign in 속초:

바다가 보이는 집
(The beach seeing house)

It implies that you can see the beach from this hotel, although I have my doubts about the truth of that claim

And here's another hotel just for fun:

Would you want to stay at the Locust-tel? If you do, it is right behind the 속초 bus terminal. In fact, it's right next to the other one.

haha.... Korean sure has its share of Engrish. But for the most part, I feel that English in Korea is pretty good ;)

Nice examples Austin!
