Marriage and The Korean Military

Postby GilmoreMeetsWorld_232052 » August 28th, 2017 11:23 pm

I've been talking to my Korean friends about the Korean military and have been hearing that married guys in the Korean military have it differently than single guys. Like married guys get desk jobs and are able to go home every weekend and things like that. I was just curious to know if any of this was true, or if there's no difference between married vs single guys in the Korean military

Hello,

Thank you for posting. To answer your question, being married does not really result in desk work--you need to be married with child(ren). If you are married and have a child(or more), then you can request to go home everyday, and request that you be placed in a base that is near your home.

Hope this was of help!

Best,
Lyn
