Quick Question

Postby Kumicky » September 11th, 2015 9:43 pm

I had a cultural question. We have a new foreign exchange student in my class. One of the teachers ask me to talk to her. She is very shy and extremely nervous cause all of this is so new to her. Is there anything I can do to help her feel more comfortable? Is there anyway I should talk to her? Things to avoid? I wanna be there for her but I don't wanna make a situation awkward

I also like Korean things, such as tv shows, music, and a lot more. Maybe these are things I can talk to her about to make her feel comfortable? I'm still learning Korean so I can't speak much to her. One thing she said she is having trouble with is understanding people. (Says they are speaking very fast)

Thank you with any help.

Hi there,

That's so nice of you! :)

Yes, I highly recommend you to talk about Korean things.
Since she is Korean, talking about Korean things would help her to relax and better understand your English.
You can also practice some Korean phrases that you've learned and ask her to check your pronunciation.
